Yogyakarta Airport Starts to Open Flights from Kuala Lumpur

PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I operates international flights from Yogyakarta International Airport, Kulon Progo, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The airline that serves international flights Kuala Lumpur to Yogyakarta is AirAsia. Based on incoming reports, the number of passengers reached 100 people or 70 percent of the capacity of 100 people.

PTS General Manager Internasional Airport Yogyakarta Agus Pandu Purnama said that for the time being, international flights were still served by one airline, AirAsia. The low-cost airline from Malaysia operates three flights a week in the new normal era of the corona virus pandemic. According to Agus, the opening of international flights is faster than the initial plan due to high market demand.

Among other things, international flight passengers are required to bring complete PCR test results that are valid for seven days. Overall, Agus said that the flight progress at Yogyakarta Airport has begun to improve. Since April 2020 there have been two flights, now 36 flights have been reached.

However, according to him, health protocols remain to be implemented strictly. Passengers are required to have a covid-19 free document, which is the result of a rapid test that is valid for 14 days.

Agus added that almost all domestic airlines provide services at Yogyakarta International Airport, starting from the Garuda Group (Garuda and Citylink), Lion Group (Wings, Batik Air), now there are AirAsia and Sriwijaya Air.
