Will AI surpass humans in the future?

The latest technology Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently used in several sectors, such as health industry, education, finance and even in law enforcement. If AI used in many fields then the next question is how about human? Will it replace a real person in performing tasks?

Predictions about the future have been made by technologists. According to them, machines will exceed humans in many complex things in the next few years.

Oxford and Yale University have conducted a survey regarding the issue with 352 Experts of machine learning as participants. According to the experts, there is a 50 percent possibility that AI will perform better than humans in all tasks in the next 45 years.

Although general AI is expected to be a replication of human intelligence, the technology still has limitations. Currently, AI applications are unable to perform complicated works but merely good at doing single jobs, for instance navigating driving routes.

AI can’t fully take over humans, said a professor in engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Wong Kam-fai. In terms of decision-making and independent reasoning, machines still can’t replace humans.

Amid the limitations, researchers always develop the AI to make it better. In fact, AI is not something to be afraid of, rather it helps humans to work more effective and efficient.

According to a World Economic Forum’s report, the number of tasks done by machines will raise from 29 percent to over 50 percent in 2025.
