Why bubble tea is not good for our health?

Bubble tea is like the new way to enjoy drinking tea. There are tapioca pearls called boba inside the drink. You could say boba is the most important ingredient in the beverage. Boba’s texture is like candy and chewy, the combination between cold tea and boba is the reason why bubble tea gains popularity.

It is said by drinking bubble tea could slow ageing, increase the immune system and mental awareness as well as good for reducing body weight.

However, bubble tea is labelled as the worst drink ever by nutritionists since it contains high level of sugar and trans fats, according to See Hua.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends to consume not more than 10 percent of sugar per day. 50 grams or 10 teaspoons of sugar is the maximum amount for adult should be consuming per day.

According to a research, a cup of bubble tea with normal sweetness level contains 34 grams of sugar which takes 68 percent of WHO recommendation.

In addition, each boba inside the tea can increase calories up to 14.

The tapioca balls also don’t have any nutrition values as they just contain of carb and short of minerals or vitamins and no fibre.
