White House: Japan's PM Kishida to meet President Biden next week

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio is set to meet with US President Joe Biden in Washington on January 13.

The White House announced the meeting in a statement on Tuesday.

It said the leaders aim to further deepen ties and discuss regional and global issues. Those include North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile programs, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
