What should Jakarta do when the case hits 8,000?

The Provincial Government of Jakarta revealed its list of scenarios if there is a surge of patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Jakarta government set the floor number at 8,000 patients.

Speaking at the City Hall on Tuesday, the head of Jakarta Health Office, Widyastuti, confirmed that the Jakarta Government had provided scenarios to handle the COVID-19 outbreak should the cases amounted to 500, 1,000, and even 8,000. She said that the patients will be divided into three groups:
1. Chronic (8%),
2. Severe (12%), and
3. Mild (80%).

For Group 1 and 2, they will get intensive treatment at the hospital with complete healthcare facilities such as a ventilator, oxygen apparatus, and intensive medical tools. While the first 20% will be treated with complete facilities, the rest 80% of patients with mild symptoms will get their treatments at the Athletes Village Emergency Hospital.

Previously, the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), had prepared various scenarios to handle the COVID-19. Speaking to the governors, Jokowi wanted the effects of the COVID-19 to be calculated meticulously.

Per Tuesday, Jakarta had recorded 427 positive cases, the highest infection rate nationwide. From the number, 32 died.
