The President of China, Xi Jinping, stated his support and cooperation with the Indonesian Government in facing the global pandemic outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). On Thursday, Xi held a phone call with the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at the Bogor Palace.

According to the information from the Media Bureau of the State Palance, Xi stated that China is ready to hold cooperation with all nations in tackling the COVID-19, including Indonesia. China, the country where the virus originated, has done all measures to prevent further outbreak of the virus. And, Indonesia is one of its priority partner.

Xi also delivered his condolences and concerns over the COVID-19 spreading across Indonesia. The President of China then shared his views and experiences in fighting the global pandemic. Xi believed that by Jokowi’s perseverance, Indonesia can beat COVID-19 in time.

In exchange, Jokowi also expressed his gratitude toward Xi for the story and views that he shared beforehand. Jokowi also shared his stories on how the pandemic has been devastating the nation since entering the land in March.

The President said that the disease sees no country. Therefore, China and Indonesia need to cooperate in handling the virus. Moreover, Jokowi also called for the eradication of stigmatization as it is harmful.
