Want a healthy heart? Pay attention to your food than your diet

It is a common concept nowadays that if you want to have a good, healthy heart, you need to eat less. However, this article might be baffling for you, since the concept turned out unplausible. Although it seems logical that by reducing the amount of your food might contribute to a healthier life, a new study points out that it is not as important as keeping your diet healthy.

A research conducted in Boston tested three types of diet and how it might have affected 150 participants undergoing those for approximately 6 weeks. The average age of these 150 participants was 54 years old.

These three diets were divided into its own prominent components: one was carbohydrate-focused, one was protein, and the other was unsaturated fat. The subject was the factors that contribute to the wellness of one’s heart.

The result was that all three diets had positive effects on the wellness of the heart since it reduces the possibility of heart attack and inflammation.

However, the researchers of the study suggested that changing the composition would not make any difference to the effect, not enhancing it nor reducing it. Concluding the research, the researchers stated that changing the macronutrients of the diet was not as important as just eating the right food.

Furthermore, the researchers also suggested the ordinary advice such as eating fruit and vegetables, lean meats, and food with high fiber was better than red meat and sugary beverages. The study was published in the International Journal of Cardiology.
