Valentine's Day, don't kiss nor hug if you want to avoid COVID-19: Experts

Hugs and kisses are seen as symbols of affection and love. Celebrating Valentine’s Day on 14 February, the intensity is increasing even more. However, since the world is facing the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak, the celebration of Valentine’s Day might be different today.

The health experts suggested the lovebirds refrain themselves or reduce the intensity to hug or snuggle for a while from kissing and hugging each other. Since the novel coronavirus might spread through physical contacts such as kisses and hugs, the health experts warned the lovers not to show their love for a while.

To spice things up, the experts said that there are many ways besides hugging and kissing to show love.

The exchange of fluids from kissing might infect a healthy person. Not only from droplets such as saliva but also the COVID-19 might last for hours after dripping onto things.

As Valentine’s Day is a global festival of love, the health experts said that it is the right time to spread love to dissipate fear from the world. For the single gentlemen and ladies, you can spend your best me-time. For the family, Valentine’s Day is the right time to mend the broken ties and to spend more time together as a family.

How about chocolate-or-flower-giving culture? It is safe, said the experts. In fact, it is the best way to show your love in the midst of the outbreak.
