Vaccination Coupons sent to elderly people at high risk of serious illness in Tottori, Nanbu Town

In preparation for the vaccination of the elderly against the new coronavirus that will start next month, the town of Nanbu in Tottori Prefecture has sent out vaccination coupons to some elderly people who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill.

The vaccination of the elderly against the new coronavirus is scheduled to start on the 12th of next month, and the town of Nanbu in Tottori Prefecture plans to start the vaccination around the 15th of next month, starting with users of elderly facilities who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill, and then to those who are 75 years old or older and will turn 75 within the next fiscal year. This is the first step.

On the 15th, the town office sent out vaccination coupons for about 2,100 people in envelopes.

The envelopes contained vaccination coupons with names and addresses written on them, a schedule of mass vaccinations for each district, and a preliminary medical checkup sheet for filling in the presence or absence of chronic diseases.

The town officials delivered a box of envelopes to the post office in the town.

The town plans to send the vaccination coupons to other elderly people around the 31st of this month.

Eriko Izumi, chief of the Nanbu Town Health and Welfare Division, said, "There have been reports of adverse reactions to the vaccine, but I hope people will consider getting the vaccine after consulting with their family doctors. The town will be receiving the vaccine from the national government in order, so we will make preparations so that everyone can receive it.
