Unusual Natural Phenomena, Hail and Snow Hit Mexico

Guadalajara, Mexico - It is reported that on Sunday (6/30), two big cities in Mexico, Mexico City and Guadalajara, were shrouded in thick snow after the hail that reached one and half meter hit the city and they are currently wondering if climate change actually exists there.

However, this natural phenomenon is very unusual as the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramirez said that, he has never witnessed the phenomenon of rain of ice storms like what happened on Sunday that time.

According to a meteorologist, Michael Guy, the rain of ice storms is expected to occur due to the low pressure that extends to the south of the United States border with Mexico. As a result, storms continue to develop along the border with different air masses. He also stated that, this is a case where atmospheric materials and topography unite and cause unusual hailstorms.

The public workers then deployed heavy equipment to clear the road in a city of five million citizens in north of the Mexican capital, Mexico City. Local officials also reported flooding and collapsing trees, but they estimated no people were injured in this situation. They also provided assistance to local residents whose homes were affected in this incident.

It was a shocking situation for the citizens and government as the city is usually exposed to temperatures of more than 30 degrees Celsius. Even though hail happened some time ago, but it has never been this chaotic as this city is also located nearly five thousand feet above sea level and exposed to the heat.
