Unlucky Huawei Is Unlucky

Remember Huawei? This is how it went. Huawei is one of the Chinese tech giants that runs business on gadgets, but mostly they produce smartphones. Last month, they broke into the market with their fold phone - Mate X - wants to go at it with Samsung's Galaxy Fold.

Currently, Huawei goes hand in hand with Leica – German renowned camera company – to strengthen their position in the gadget war, having tested the trend that present generations want better camera than better features.

Just last week, US put Huawei into their trade blacklist along with other 70 products. To make the enmity between Huawei and US worse, Google – the running OS for Huawei phones and also “the company from US” – blocks Huawei to run their service on any of their phones. That does not mean that they will not be able to get Android, they still get it in form of Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Nonetheless, in form of AOSP, Huawei does not have access to Google’s key feature, such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Now, and more that needs Google verification for it.

While Google does not want to lose its potential customer, they are still negotiating with Huawei about the apps that Huawei can use in its phone, without violating the blacklist set by the US government.
This is just getting darker for Huawei. But, Chinese is not Chinese, if they have no backup plans. If the negotiation falls shy between them, then Huawei is developing their own OS.

One’s trash is another’s treasure. If Huawei cannot sell well in America, then it is different story in Europe and other continental markets. The latest model from Huawei, P30 equipped with Leica camera and 5x zoom, received a warm welcome from its audiences. Nonetheless, put it in mind that once Google restricts any of its key feature in Huawei phone, then Huawei’s phone is as good as nothing without the Google-verified apps.

Looking back to the Trade Wars between China and US, where both of them are raising tariff to put each other under heavier pressure, the Huawei’s demise might be settled, once one of these 2 cats gives up to each other’s needs.

But, certainly, this will not be the last time we will see Huawei.
