UNICEF Korea entitles Jin BTS to join the Honors Club

The oldest member of Korean boy group BTS, Jin, was announced to be entitled by UNICEF Korea to become a member of the Honors club. On Friday, the Korea office revealed that Jin has regularly contributed to the organization since May 2018.

According to the UNICEF Korea data, Jin’s donation for the United Nations Children’s Fund in Korea has passed 100 million won ($84,000).

To become the UNICEF Korea’s Honors Club membership, a donator must have donated over 100 million won. Currently actor Won Bin,chairman of AmorePacific Group Suh Kyung-bae and Olympic figure staking champion Kim Yuna are officially the Honors Club’s members.

After one year secretly donated to the UNICEF Korea, Jin recently decided to announce his work and that he became one of the Honors Club member to public. He hoped that he could be a good influence for others as he believed “good influence grows if it is shared.”

The UNICEF Korea Secretary General, Lee Ki-Chul said that Jin is an example for young people in the world with a message of aspiration, for his worthwhile financial donations. He hoped that youth would have more attention to their work through BTS Jin’s influence.

Since November 2017, BTS and UNICEF have been working together to promote “LOVE MYSELF’ campaign, an anti-violence campaign made by the UN organization to protect young generation from violence.
