Two Delivery Rivals, Just Eat and Takeaway.com, are Merging

The delivery market in Europe is contested by the famous companies such as GrubHub and Uber Eats. However, it does not mean Europe only has those two delivery service companies. Just Eat and Takeaway.com are delivery service companies as well, but smaller than the other two. Just Eat is from UK, while Takeaway.com is a Dutch company. These two are rivals, but it is reported that Just Eat and Takeaway.com are planning to merge.

The boards of Just Eat and Takeaway.com confirmed about the report which says they are planning to merge. Not only that, it is revealed by Sky News on Saturday, July 27, Just Eat and Takeaway.com are currently in the middle of negotiating. By merging, these two are reported to have a £9 or £11 deal in the future. Nonetheless, both companies have not made any statement regarding the deal report. In addition, Takeaway.com stated that they are still thinking about the merge. They said they still have time until August 24, whether they want to merge with Just Eat or not.

If the merging really happens, it is predicted to bring benefits for the two. Each of them already had consumers who trust them. By merging, the two companies are expected to boost the number of customers. If they can do that, it means they can compete easily with the other two big companies, GrubHub and Uber Eats.
