Trump: You can set the lockdown loose a bit, but...

On Friday last week, the President of the United States (U.S), said that the government allows its states’ governors to set lockdown and physical distancing loose a little bit. That is with several conditions. The lockdown may be set loose if the number of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases is not high. That means, for the states whose number is high, the lockdown persists.

The decision came after Trump held a teleconference call with the governors of all states.

Quoted by the Associated Press, Trump said that the governors will be encouraged to make their own approaches to the conditions faced by their states. For those who think that it is not the right time to open the lockdown, it is okay; and, for those who think that it is time, it is okay either.

For the latter, the U.S government will set guidelines to ensure its freedom in fulfilling their duties as soon as possible.

For the states with a low infection rate, the lockdown may be set loose in three stages. Each stage will be done in 14 days interval to prevent further outbreak. For those who are prone to contract the disease, it is mandatory for them to stay indoors until the third stage

Some governors decided to prolong the lockdown and physical distancing period, in order to flatten the curve and maintain the hospital’s capacity to treat COVID-19-positive patients.
