Trump tested negative for COVID-19

The President of the United States (U.S), Donald Trump (73), has been tested negative for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The POTUS was tested on Friday. The physician to the U.S President, Sean Conley, confirmed the test result in a statement on Saturday.

The call for the test came after Trump hosted a meeting at Trump Resort in Florida with a Brazilian delegation one week ago. Some of these delegations were tested positive. President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, was also tested positive. Meeting his aide, Fabio Wajngarten, was among the COVID-19 positive.

Conley assured that Trump is symptom-free. Trump himself did not self-isolate after the meeting, saying that he felt no symptoms. But, since Americans bombarded questions during a news conference at the White House, Trump said that he would get himself tested to prove his health.

Conley assured that the White House has been in daily contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and White House COVID-19 Task Force to prevent any further outbreak. Currently, the U.S has recorded 2,700 cases and 54 deaths. Trump had declared a national state of emergency on Friday to roll out US$50 billion to tackle COVID-19.

To prevent any further outbreak, the U.S closed schools and public spaces such as museums. Moreover, Trump also temporarily restricts tourists from Europe.
