Traveloka adds JR-West Pass as its newest product

Traveling to Japan will be easier since Indonesia-based travel and lifestyle service provider Traveloka has announced JR-West rail passes as its latest product.

JR-West pass is an exclusive rail pass suitable for tourists from abroad who want to visit the west part of Japan. The train provides several routes, such as the Kansai Area Pass (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Wakayama) and Hokuriku Arch Pass (Tokyo, Osaka, Hokuriku).

In fact there are a lot of travel agencies and providers in Indonesia that sell JR Pass, however, Traveloka offers convenience buying process for customers. Travelers can purchase JR-West train tickets through Traveloka’s app and they can choose how to get the tickets, such as by email or airport pickup.

If customers cancel their purchases, a full refund will be given by Traveloka as long as the buyers have not redeemed the pass yet.

On Thursday, Traveloka’s Vice President of Rail and Connectivity, Abraham Seoditjo said in a press conference that the company committed to assisting travelers in finding the best routes across all JR-West lines, therefore customers don't have to buy additional tickets.

The collaboration is the first time for Traveloka to establish a partnership with the West Japan Railway Company which is one of the JR Group companies operating in western Honshu. The train lines encompass 18 prefectures in Japan with a total of 4,900 kilometers.

Previously in early July 2019, Traveloka added a new product for Indonesian travelers who plan to go to Europe, which was Schengen visa travel insurance. The insurance is one of the requirements for Indonesia travelers who want to apply for a Schengen visa.

Travelers can visit 26 countries in Europe with a Schengen visa, including Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

The insurance also covers unexpected events such as accident, illness, flight cancellations, and delays, as well as baggage loss.

The price of the insurance starts from IDR 83,500 (US$ 5.9) for a basic package and IDR 335,000 (US$ 23.96) for a platinum package– a seven-day coverage.
