Train service chaotic in Kyushu because of a snail!

Kyushu Railway Co or JR Kyushu, Japan, become chaotic due to delayed departure of a dozen trains. According to the train operator, this began when a sudden power outage stopped dozens of trains operating.

After making a blackout, finally JR Kyushu succeeded in finding the perpetrators that caused chaos to occur. Surprisingly, the culprit was a snail who was walking to an electric power device installed near the railroad tracks.

A company spokesman said that at first they thought that the device had a bug. But after being examined, the cause actually is a dead snail. This snail was burned to death due to a short circuit from the device. According to the official, this is a unique event. Usually they often experience problems with deer that collide with trains. But the problem with snails is the first time that has happened.

Because of these problems, the company was forced to cancel 26 train trips and delay other services. As a result, around 12,000 passengers were affected by the departure delay.

After the incident, JR Kyushu said that they had examined similar devices in the area and made sure there were no disturbances from other snails to avoid such an incident again.
