THREE ELECTRICITY POWER PURCHASE CONTRACTS HAS BEEN SIGNED

JAKARTA - State Electricity Company (PLN) has signed three power purchase agreement (PPA) for 35,000 megawatt (MW) program from January to May 2018.

PLO Director of Corporate Financing Syofvi Felienty Roekman said that the three PPAs signed are steam power plants (PLTU).

"PPA there are three. Yesterday it was a total capacity of about 800 MW, "said Syofvi, Tuesday (5/6/2018).

Based on PLN data, up to April 2018, the project generating from the 35,000 MW program that has entered the stage of PPA has reached 31,997 MW or 91.42%. There is an additional capacity of 805 MW from last year which reached 31,172 MW.

The contracted power plant project and entering the construction phase until April 2018 has reached 49.12%, amounting to 17,192 MW or 76 MW addition from last year.

For commercially operated power projects or COD (commercial on date) only reached 1,604 MW or 4.58%. This is because the operation of the project can take longer due to adjusting the type of plant and capacity.

The estimation of hydro power plant (PLTA) period will take 5-6 years, geothermal power plant (PLTP) can be 5-6 years, power plant (steam power plant) above 600 MW can reach 6 years and below 600 MW reaches 3 years.

Syofvi said with the current achievement, the number of procurement of 35,000 MW program generator is left about 3,000 MW. Of this amount, about 1,000 MW becomes part of private developer or independent power producer (IPP).

The plan for completion of the IPP sale and purchase contract will be finalized next year.
