The Japanese government urges telemarketing amid COVID-19

On Friday, Japan’s Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry urged more Japanese companies to implement telemarketing and shorter working hours to prevent further outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Ministry will request it through Japan Business Federation and other instances.

Not only shorter hours and telemarketing but also the Ministry will urge the businesses to not complicate their employees if they want to take days off once they show symptoms. Speaking at a press conference, Health, Labor and Welfare Minister, Katsunobu Kato said that the understanding of the companies is important to keep the virus from spreading even further.

Per Friday, about 730 infections were detected in Japan, mainly came from the Diamond Princess outbreak. About 720 passengers of the Diamond Princess left the cruise ship after the two-week quarantine period was over.

However, the medical experts criticized that instead of prevention, the quarantine only makes it worse.

A recent case involved two boys in Hokkaido and Saitama prefectures. While the boy in Hokkaido never traveled to China, the boy from Saitama was one of the returnees from Wuhan, the ground zero of the infections with his father, tested positive for COVID-19 on February 2020.

Meanwhile, many countries have planned and executed their plan to repatriate their nationals from Japan.
