The Japanese government is ready to imprison people who fly overweight drones when drunk

Tokyo, Japan - As so many accidents because of careless use of drones, the Japanese government decided that they will imprison its people who fly unmanned aircraft or drones under the influence of alcohol, and the imprisonment sanction might up to one year according to the new Japanese Government law.

According to AFP, on Thursday (13/6), The Ministry of Transportation official said that, dangerous actions with drones, such as sharp falls, will also be fined 500 thousand yen as they believe the operation of the drone after consuming alcohol is as serious as driving a car when drunk and risking lives.

People who fly overweight drones with more than 200 grams (equivalent to seven ounces) will also be fined 300 thousand yen, equivalent to USD 2,750 by the Japanese government.

Japan is currently also facing problems with tourists who fly drones in tourist-crowded areas, such as Kyoto that is highly risk for the safety and convenience.

It is reported that in 2017, an industrial drone was used at a robot festival in Ogaki City, Japan. However, the drone that should have flown and showered small children with sweets from above actually fell, hit and injured six people, making people worried about the safety and the use of drones especially in public area.
