The best quality VR is now available, says LG Uplus
The competition among South Korea’s mobile companies in 5G network services is getting higher. After SK Telecom and KT, now it is time for LG Uplus joining the VR market.
On Thursday, A blind test at Starfield Hanam shopping mall was organized by LG Uplus to compare the SK Telecom and KT’s VR quality. The third-largest mobile company confidently displayed its VR and claimed it as the best device.
LG Uplus official said the company wanted to compare its VR with those provided by SK and decided to hold the blind test to show how extraordinary its VR performance to public.
During the test, participants would try the three different brand of VR and compare the quality of each carrier. After that, they voted for which VR had the best quality and performance. The votes result showed LG Uplus VR was the most preferred by visitors.
VR of LG Uplus had the best quality content compare to the others, said a participant.
Another participant said she voted the company’s VR because she were entertained by the best immersive video experience with LG Uplus compared to VR of 2 other companies.
Since June 4, LG Uplus has been running blind test at the shopping mall in Gyeonggi Province. On Wednesday, it was reported, about 75,000 participants have come to the company’s booth to experience the distinction of its VR content.
LG Uplus worked together with Google in virtual reality production. Previously on Jan 11, LG Uplus confirmed the company would prepare a fund with Google to invest in VR content.
The content would accessible on LG Uplus platform, such as app and YouTube under Google’s copyright.
Currently, LG Uplus VR provides various content including Kpop live performances. By the end of this year, the company is planning to expand its content up to 1,500.
