Sydney Port is Shocked with Sudden Arrival of 3 Chinese Warships

Sydney, Australia - The arrival of three Chinese warships approaching Sydney harbor was shocking the Australians who were enjoying a sunny morning in winter. The Australian Prime Minister even has to issue an announcement to ease the chaos. The arrival of Chinese-flagged warships carrying 700 sailors was indeed surprising, especially after increasing anxiety over China's military power.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated that, the situation is indeed surprising for others, but not for the government as they have known this for the past few times. Morrison described the arrival of the warships as a return visit because Australian ships had visited China as they just returned after facing drug eradication operations in the Middle East.

It is reported that, the warships seen at the Sydney harbor were Kunlun Shan, Yuzhao class landing ship, Luoma Lake ship which refilled food and war supplies, and modern Xuchang warships believed to be equipped with air combat equipment and submarine anti-missile systems.

The arrival time of the three warships was also questioned, because it was only one day before the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen demonstration, and also occurred just days after the unfolding of a confrontation between Australian ships and Chinese ships in the South China Sea. At that time the Australian helicopter pilot was shot by a laser.

Rory Medcalf, head of the Department was also confused because the Chinese navy that visited Australia is usually a warship, not a group of warships that have 700 personnel, and questioning why they came to Sydney, as  Sydney is not a common stop on their way back from the Gulf of Aden.
