Survey: Indonesian people missed going to the beach

Indonesia is reaching one month of physical distancing and self-quarantine since the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) entered the nation in March. Therefore, it is imaginable if these people could be so jovial when they are allowed to go out once more.

Not to the mall, we warn you. In a survey, when being asked about what they are going to do after the self-quarantine period is over, they choose to go to the beaches.

Compiled by CNN Indonesia’s Twitter poll, about 48 percent of Indonesian people from 1,733 votes chose beaches as their first destination once the health crisis is over. Some netizens said that they missed the breathtaking views of the beaches. So, they wanted to go to beaches such as Ancol, Canggu, Gili Trawangan, even Raja Ampat.

From swimming to picnicking, from snorkeling to partying at the beach clubs, they want to do these things after the COVID-19 has passed.

Aside from the beach, about 27.9 percent of the votes are desperate to hike mountains or visiting national parks. While these kinds of activities are often exhausting, they admit that they missed the atmosphere.

About 18.1 percent wanted to go to the amusement parks, while 6 percent wanted to go to the museums when the condition has gone back to normal.

While they really desperate to tour after it is over, it is evident that tourism will change after the pandemic. For example, people will be more aware of hygiene. Moreover, these tourist attractions will be less crowded.

It is good judging that most of the tourist attractions are overwhelmed by the environmental issues due to the “overtourism”.

But, the most important question is, “Do you have the budget to travel?” If not, then you should start saving at this moment.
