Sudden Air Attack, 7 People Died in Idlib

Idlib Province, Suria - It is reported that on Thursday (30/5) 7 people have became victims in an air attack that took place in the pocket of a jihad in northwest Syria. Damascus and its allies were suspected to have done air attacks in Idlib Province and its surroundings in the past month, even though there has been a ceasefire agreement to stop the humanitarian disaster.

According to the source, Idlib Province and its surroundings are now controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, a group dominated by former Al-Qaeda members. The United Nations revealed about 270 thousand people were displaced after the fight since the end of April and 30 health facilities and schools were not functioning properly ever since.

When the rescue team struggled to enter the location, they found the bodies of the victims were trapped under the rubble of the building.

However, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights organization reported that 285 civilians were killed since last April in this area that is home to nearly three million people. The head of observation Rami Abdel Rahman stated that, the air attack rate decreased relatively on Thursday compared to the previous days.

He mentioned that the bombing took place in the town of Maaret al-Numan on the western edge of the area which is still controlled by jihadists. An AFP photographer reported that the attack hit a residential area, destroyed a building and killed several people inside.

It is reported that since 2011, this conflict in Syria has killed more than 370 thousand local people. The government is still looking for a solution to tighten the air security in Suria.
