Stroke and heatstroke, how are they different?

The scorching summer season is here. You will have to be careful, however. The sweltering heat might cause heatstroke. But, wait. Is heatstroke the same as a stroke?

First, let’s see how they seem similar to each other. Stroke and heatstroke go for the brains. They disrupt the blood supply to your brain; therefore, causing a stroke.

But, that is its only similarity. The rest is different from the cause, the process, and the effect. As you may know, the regular, terminal stroke is caused by hypertension or cardiovascular disease. It is often caused by the ruptured blood vessel.

Meanwhile, heatstroke – as the name tells you – is caused by the sweltering heat. This sweltering heat that strikes your body causes dehydration, and it also dehydrates your brain.

The symptoms of heatstroke are fatigue and loss of concentration to consciousness. If the brain begins to be affected and the blood supply begins to run out, symptoms of stroke follow which is seizure.

Now, we are talking about the effect. Regular stroke affects only specific parts of your body such as rendering your hand immobile or speech loss. However, heatstroke attacks all parts of your body.

Therefore, during the summer season, everyone should drink enough water, at least two liters daily. For stroke, you can prevent it by live healthily by monitoring your diet and exercising regularly.
