Stop Producing Tablets, Google Laptops will be more Featured

USA - According to CRN, Google introduced the Pixel Slate, a 2-in-1 tablet, in October 2018 and launched commercially in November 2018. This tablet runs with the Chrome operating system and attracted many users. However, Google is reportedly not going to continue the new generation of Pixel Slates as Google reportedly has stopped the development of two Google brand tablets recently and will be focusing more on their laptops.

Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President of Google's Devices and Services confirmed the termination of production as he tweeted that, Google's hardware team will focus on building a laptop and the Android and Chrome OS teams are 100 percent committed to long-term work with their partners on tablets for all market segments (consumers, companies, education) from now.

According to the source, apparently, Google decided to stop producing tablet devices after their last tablet which slid last year, Pixel Slate because the tablet is not selling well in the market low market sales.

However, Osterloh added that, Google will still fully support Pixel Slate for the long term, even though they prefer to focus more on developing Chrome OS-based hardware, such as the Pixelbook laptop.
