Scheduled Flights Between Japan and Bali Resumed Before G20
Indonesia's national airline has resumed regular flights between Japan and Bali from November 1st. Foreign tourists are returning to the area, and expect an increase in Japanese tourists. Indonesia's state-owned Garuda Indonesia has resumed regular flights three days a week on direct flights between Narita Airport and Bali from the 1st, and tourists from Japan arrived on the island on the night of the 1st.
Direct flights that had been suspended due to the spread of the new coronavirus were partially resumed in February this year for the first time in about two years, but from June to October this year due to the effects of Japan's border measures could no longer be used. A man in his 40s who visited from Tokyo said, "I came here for the first time in three years. I'm looking forward to surfing." Moreover, a man from a Japanese travel agency said, "I want to visit hotels and downtown areas and send more tourists from Japan."
According to the Bali Tourism Board, approximately 890,000 foreigners from Australia, India and other countries have visited by August this year, a significant increase from the dozens of people during the same period last year. The Indonesian government wants to promote the resumption of tourism on the island during the G20 = 20 major countries summit to be held in Bali from November 15, and expects an increase in tourists from Japan.
