Rumor: Sony to launch 2 variants of PS5 in 2020, PS5 and PS5 Pro

After reaping a bountiful harvest with PS4 series, Sony PlayStation is reportedly ready to launch the successor of PS4, of course, PS5.

PlayStation hinted that the release of PS5 would be around the fourth quarter of 2020. However, the rumor is not only the date. PS4 was released in 2013, and PS4 Pro was released three years after. PS4 Pro supports 4K visuals.

The rumor went on to predict that the Japanese gaming console manufacturer would release, not one, but two version PS5: ordinary PS5 and PS5 Pro. PS5 Pro, of course, offers more impact in terms of graphics compared to its sibling.

The rumor started from a Japanese tech journalist called Zenji Nishikawa who stated that PlayStation was going to release two models for PS5. Nishikawa’s prediction was rumored to be quite precise since the last time he predicted that Nintendo would release Switch Lite in 2019, which was later proven true.

PS5 will be supported by AMD’s hardware such as Radeon Navi for its GPU, supporting 8K visuals, and the third generation of Ryzen as its CPU. A piece of good news for avid PlayStation gamer is that PS5 is backward compatible, meaning that you can play your PS4 game in it. With these high-end specifications, the world is wondering what PS5 can do.

Rumors are stating that PlayStation is going to unveil PS5 in late September. However, it is most probably that PS5 will be unveiled in the “PlayStation Meeting 2020” in February 2020, with the theme of “the future of PlayStation”.
