Renault raided over Ghosn's Versailles wedding party

PARIS (Kyodo) -- French authorities have searched the head office of Renault SA in connection with a probe into a lavish 2016 wedding party at the Palace of Versailles for Carlos Ghosn, who at the time headed the automaker and Nissan Motor Co., local media reported Thursday.
The search, reportedly conducted on Wednesday, follows an earlier raid by French authorities on July 3. Investigators are probing whether Ghosn used the palace for free following Renault's sponsorship of renovations at Versailles worth 2.3 million euros ($2.6 million).

The Nissan-Renault alliance has been shaken by the arrest last November of Ghosn, who created and led the Japanese-French auto group, on charges of financial misconduct and breach of trust. Ghosn denies all allegations.
