Remondo, Coca Cola Japan's alcohol to go nationwide

Coca Cola Japan planned to sell its chūhai product, Remondo, throughout Japan starting 28 October, making its entrance to the Japanese alcoholic market. Shochū highball (chūhai) is a Japanese alcoholic beverage made from a mixture of 45% or less chūhai with lemon-based carbonated water.

Currently, the 350ml Remondo is sold in the Kyushu region as a trial run by Coca Cola. However, Remondo is and will be unavailable in Okinawa Prefecture.

Coca Cola Japan will be the first international branch of the soft beverages company that sells alcoholic drinks. Regarding the objective of how many cans it would like to sell, the Japanese branch did not figure any figure.

The sales of regular Coca Cola in Japan had met several obstacles as the Japanese people began to be aware of health issues and declining birthrates.

Coca Cola Japan stared at chūhai products; its popularity as an affordable drink proves to be effective in its doubling sales figures in recent 10 years. Hence, Remondo was born.

Coca Cola Japan only hopes that the Japanese people will fall head over heels for the chūhai product. Remondo is sold at ¥165 with four variants, ranging from 3% - 9% prove.
