Rally in Kashmir, led by Imran Khan

On Friday (13/9), the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, set a jalsa or a huge rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Kashmir controlled by Pakistan. The jalsa aimed to show Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiri and spread the message about the siege of India-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJK) by Indian Occupation Forces to the world.

Khan claimed on Thursday (12/9) that he had successfully gathered 58 nations at the 42nd United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Tuesday (10/9) to make a joint statement about IOJK and demand to India. The 42nd edition of the session is being held from 9 – 27 September in Geneva.

Khan’s statement, however, was bashed by the spokesperson for Indian Foreign Ministry, Raveesh Kumar, stating that there were only 47 countries in the council. Kumar accused Khan would either gather support from other communities or he just simply bluffed.

The jalsa had been announced via the official Twitter account of the Pakistani PM on Wednesday (11/9). Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Muhammad Faisal, confirmed the tweet. Furthermore, Faisal stated that Khan would make a policy statement during the jalsa.

Since early August, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, changed Jammu & Kashmir's status after revoking Article 370; hence, putting J&K back to security cover by Indian Occupation Force. Since then, Islamabad began to gather support to set J&K free but to no avail.

India specifically noted that it did not want any interference from outer nations. While Faisal stated that India was not ready for any talk about J&K, New Delhi countered the statement by saying that it would consider negotiating once Islamabad stopped its support for terrorism.

The more it is dug, the worse it is for Pakistan. The “terrorism” mentioned by India was, in fact, a nod to the information from the Federal Minister for Interior of Pakistan, Ijaz Ahmed Shah, that Islamabad spent billions to support Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD).

On the starting day of the HRC Session in Geneva, many posters also showed condemnation against Pakistan’s heinous actions over Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. People of Balochistan brought up the inhumane “annihilation” that the Pakistani Forces had done to their compatriots. Therefore, the Baloch sought independence from Pakistan.

These incidents which were brought up at the Geneva session only revealed that Pakistan should have removed the beam from its eyes before telling others about a mote in their eyes.
