Punished Children with Stungun, This Japanese Man is Arrested

Kitakyushu, Japan - It is reported from Reuters, on Wednesday (29/5), A 45-year-old man from the southern city of Kitakyushu, Japan, was arrested by police for committing violence against his son by using a stun gun to punish two daughters and a son just for not obeying the rules. According to the suspect's confession, he punished his three children aged 17, 13, and 11 years with a stun gun because they did not comply with the rules of the house and lost his temper.

As the result of his violence, his son suffered minor burns in the arm area while no serious injuries occurred to his two daughters.

Apparently, several cases of child abuse have become big news Japan in recent years. Last year, a five years old toddler named Yua Funato was found dead because he was beaten and left to starve by his own father. The victim's father called his actions a way to discipline Funato but ended up killing his own son.

The Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, also spoke up regarding the case of child abuse which continued to shock Japan.

Experts also mentioned that all forms of violence are ineffective ways to educate children. In this case, members of the lower house of parliament approved the plan to ban physical punishment against children on Tuesday (28/5).

Japan will become the third country in Asia after Mongolia and Nepal to have implemented this ban. While more than 50 countries, especially in Europe, have already implemented a ban on physical punishment for children at home to prevent child abuse and for children to have better lives.
