PTPN XII to Export Coffee to Europe, Saudi Arabia, and U.S.

PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII (Nusantara Plantation) abbreviated as PTPN XII, is a state own enterprise. They have 33 plantations which are located in East Java. The minister of state own enterprises Rini M. Soemarno visited one of the coffee plantations that is Klisat Jampit, located in Banyuwangi, East Java. After visiting the coffee plantation, Rini said she is supporting PTPN to export their Arabica coffee. This is due to the fact that overseas market is interested in PTPN XII’s Arabica coffee.

During the visit, Rini saw the production process of Arabica coffee; started from farmers selecting the coffee beans until the coffee beans’ drying process. Rini thinks that PTPN XII’s Arabica coffee’s quality is excellent, but it is yet the company’s main business.

The minister also stated that PTPN XII needs to keep up their Arabica coffee production, so the production unit will be increased as well. If the production unit is increased, the coffee beans can be exported to U.S., Europe, and Saudi Arabia where the markets are interested in the coffee.

It is reported that Kalisat Jampit plantation could produce 1,000 ton Arabica coffee a year. They are also Utz Certified, which make their Arabica coffee is listed in United States. Rini asked the PTPN XII to keep increasing their quality; hence the Indonesian coffee could be number one in the international market.
