Provide a Special Widget, Grab Invite Millions of UMKM Go Digital

Grab encourages the growth and increase in sales of MSME products in the country through the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia movement under the auspices of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA).

The movement was originally launched by President Joko Widodo in order to encourage the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to go digital and expand its reach to remote areas, one of which is through the support of Grab.

Grab Indonesia’s President Ridzki Kramadibrata said MSMEs played an important role for the Indonesian economy, and therefore he believed the acceleration of digital transformation could help Indonesian MSMEs to survive and rise in the current difficult situation.

"Through the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia movement, we hope to help MSMEs to develop again and for MSMEs that are still offline, let's switch to online channels," Ridzki said based on a press statement, Jakarta, Thursday (5/14).

The transition process, continued by Ridzki, cannot be done alone. There needs to be involvement from many parties to support the growth of MSMEs especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Together with the government, Grab will contribute to helping MSMEs to rise. This is an initiative that we have and will continue to do, through various training, technology provision, and the development of the Grab platform," Ridzki said.

Present New Widgets in the Application

Grab plans to present the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia widget containing a video tutorial in the Grab application so users can access MSMEs easily.

Through this widget, Grab will help MSMEs that are still offline to be able to immediately take advantage of online platforms such as GrabFood, GrabExpress, GrabMart, GrabKios, and the latest GrabAssistant service.

"GrabKios digital shop technology has reached 2.6 million agents and stalls in more than 500 cities and districts throughout Indonesia. And continues to want to develop other Grab services to help 56 million MSMEs that are still offline become online to benefit from the digital economy.
