Productivity cranked, Pertamina drills 6 oil wells

Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas enterprise, PT Pertamina EP, drilled six oil wells following the 2020 working plan since the end of 2019. The drilling was made to crank Pertamina’s productivity.

Speaking to the press on Monday, President Director of Pertamina EP, Nanang Abdul Manaf, revealed the drillings have been done in several sites such as Rantau Field, Sangasanga Field, Bunyi Field, and Subang Field. Not only drillings but also Pertamina held waterflood trowel projects in Jirak Village and an oil well exploration project in Kusuma Arum. Both in South Sumatera.

In 2020, the subsidiary company of PT Pertamina (Persero) projected oil and gas production to as much as 85,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 932 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

In the recent two years, Pertamina EP’s oil productivity has been going up. In 2018, it was recorded at 79,445 BOPD; in 2019, it was 82,361 BOPD. For gas, from 1.017 MMSCFD in 2018 to 959.24 MMSCFD.

Financially, Pertamina EP aims for a US$3.1 billion income with a net income of US$680 million.

In Pertamina EP’s Asset 1 area, Jambi Field drilled oil well SGC-27 in Talang Belido Village, Sungai Gelam Regency, Jambi with 280 BOPD since 16 December 2019. Jambi Field also repaired SGC-23 with crude oil production as much as 208 BOPD since 28 December 2019.

Sangasanga Field in Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan, Pertamina EP drilled the 1,500m LSE-1119 oil well in LSE-P1704 site.

With these six drillings, Pertamina EP hopes that the target can be achieved, especially since the company has allocated US$784 million for 2020 and US$1.24 billion for operational expenditure.
