Prince Charles Opened a Bed-and-Breakfast

Prince Charles is diving into the business world! The 70-year-old prince opened a bed-and-breakfast in Scotland, only a few days before his grandson, Prince Archie, was born.

Prince Charles named the bed-and-breakfast as The Granary Lodge. The lodge includes 10 luxurious rooms. The lodge itself was actually his late grandmother’s castle. The now-lodge was Queen Mother’s property from 1952 until 1996. It is said the castle was like her vacation house, as she always spent 3 weeks in August and would go back for 10 days in October each year.

The opening of the castle was announced by the Clarence House. Each of the bedrooms is styled differently and there is a drawing room with a beautiful view. From the room, one can enjoy the Pentland Firth to Orkney for a better relaxation. Breakfast is also made daily for the customers. The rates start at around $200 per night.

The profit from the bed-and-breakfast will be donated to maintain and operate tourist destination in the North Highlands of Scotland.

In addition to the opening of The Granary Lodge, Prince Charles will host garden parties at Buckingham Palace and Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. It is used to be Queen Elizabeth’s duties, but this year, for the time, the duties are handed to Prince Charles.
