Prime Minister Suga's concern about the act that raise tension

Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said at a press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 21st, "Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are calling for the realization of the basic principles of the rule of law and openness in the Indo-Pacific." On the other hand, he said, "There is a retrograde movement in the South China Sea, and I am looking at it with concern. I oppose any action that raises tensions." He also denied that Japan had "no idea of creating an Indo-Pacific version of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)" regarding the "free and open Indo-Pacific concept."
