PM of Japan Suga didn't consider China's name for improving relationships between nations

On the 21st, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga returned to Japan after completing his first foreign visit to Vietnam and Indonesia after taking office. During this visit, China was restrained by strengthening cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). That attitude overlaps with former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's first overseas trip during the second administration, but unlike Mr. Abe at that time, Prime Minister Suga avoided openly naming "China." It reflects changes in the situation surrounding Japan-China relations.

"We oppose any action that raises tensions in the South China Sea. We reiterate the importance of all parties striving for a peaceful resolution of conflicts under international law, not power or intimidation." The prime minister at a press conference in Jakarta on the 21st.
