Petr Cech is coming back to Chelsea as sporting director in the summer

The Europa League final match will be the last game of Petr Cech with Arsenal before he leaves the Gunners. On Wednesday, Arsenal will against Chelsea, his past and future club, at Baku stadium in Azerbaijan. 

The Arsenal goalkeeper will come back to Chelsea in this summer taking role as a new sporting director at the club. Although it is still unknown what exactly Cech’s duties and responsibilities as sporting director, he may work in terms of recruitment and bridging the gap between the board and the manager.

On social media, Cech said that he will make a decision after the Europa League final in Baku.

He tweeted about the news on his personal twitter: "Despite the news today as I had already said to everybody before, I'll make a decision about my future after the last game. Now my sole focus is to win the Europa League with Arsenal".

Since November 2017, The Blues does not have a technical director after Michael Emenalo quitted from the Blues. The Chelsea director, Marina Granovskaia, has managed the majority of his duties.

Cech joined Chelsea in 2004 until he moved to Arsenal in 2015. During his 11 years career at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea successfully won four Premier League titles and a Champions League in 2012 

It is also rumoured that Chelsea is going to bring back the “Golden Generations” including John Terry and Frank Lampard.
