PEAK FLOW OF MUDIK (HOMECOMING) IS ESTIMATED TO CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE

JAKARTA - Longer holiday Lebaran is expected to change the peak flow of homecoming.

Director of Transport and Multimodal Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Cucu Mulyana said the possibility of a change of peak departure of homecoming flow.

"We predict the peak of the current will occur on H-7 and H-6 or on 8-9 June 2018. This is different from the previous year due to longer holidays," he said at the Kemenhub Building on Wednesday (6/6/2018).

Based on Kemenhub survey, private vehicles are still the main choice of travelers.

It is estimated that the number of people returning home by four-wheeled vehicles is 3.72 million or an increase of 16.69% from the previous year. Meanwhile, two-wheeled vehicles as much as 8.33 million or up 30.44% compared to last year.

Anticipating the inclusion of vehicles on the road, Kemenhub has issued a circular for trucking goods entrepreneurs.

The notice appealed to a three or more axle truck not to cross the toll road

Cikampek and Jakarta-Merak from 8 June at 18.00 WIB to 9 June at 24.00 WIB. For those who still want to operate, is expected to use the arterial road.

These operational restrictions do not apply to trucks carrying BBM & BBG, livestock, staple food, money and postal, as well as free luggage trucks.

Cikampek Toll Road Management prepares fuel oil (BBM) packaging at a number of resorts that do not have a General Fuel Filling Station.

"The price of packaging fuel is no different from the gas station," said a spokesman for PT Jasa Marga Jakarta-Cikampek branch, Irwansyah, Wednesday (6/6/2018).

It is said, there are four rest areas on the route back and forth in Toll Cikampek. Among them are at kilometers 19, 33, 39, and 57. BBM packaging is provided in the parking bay KM 18, 41, 59, and rest area at KM 33.

"We are working with Pertamina as a provider of fuel," said Irwansyah.

General Manager Jasa Marga Jakarta Cikampek branch, Raddy R. Lukman said the provision of fuel packing of five liters was done following the arrangement of vehicle in and out of the rest area.

"If the rest area is full gas station, can use parking bay or small rest area to fill the fuel," he said.

According to Raddy riders who want to buy fuel packaging at the location must use the right money to avoid the queue. So far it is not known how much fuel supply will be available in the parking bay.

"Guaranteed enough, but the purchase is limited sufficiently," he said.

PT Jasa Marga predicts that the peak of homecoming flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road will occur six days before Lebaran or H-6. It is estimated that vehicles leaving Jakarta through Cikarang Utama toll booths increase up to 60 percent or reach 120 thousand vehicles.

According to him, all potential densities will occur in the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. However, the road manager has done various anticipations such as open-close rest area, traffic engineering, to contra flow through the discretion of the police.

With the dismissal of three national strategic projects on H-10, Jakarta-Cikampek 2 Elevated, Light Rail Transit (LRT), and the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train are expected to minimize the density of Cikampek toll road segment.
