Parents in Thailand Alert by Child's Bruised Face

BANGKOK - Fight in school is never tolerated, especially when it turns ugly. Children need to be taught how to coexist in a harmonious society. On the other hand, teacher has to be ready every time, in order to keep order and prevent any unfortunate event.

In Bangkok, a 2 years old girl had to be rushed to the Nong Bunmak Hospital on Thursday (13/6), after his classmates fought with him, and hit him with blunt objects. The incident happened at Natthawut Wittaya Primary School, Bangkok.

Chanat Gweechaochalart, the chief police, described the incident was as follows: it was a late morning after Thai’s greeting ceremony “wai khru”, where all children are set to give reverence to the teachers. After the end of ceremony, the teachers were so busy with the ceremony; thus, the class consisted of 20 children was left attended.

The 2 children then were fighting over toys. The other child suddenly picked a little domino box and hit the girl on the face. When the poor girl started crying, the teacher rushed in.

The incident went to public’s attention when both parents uploaded the photo of the poor girl’s condition online.

The incident left the public’s feelings mixed. Nonetheless, what got on everyone’s nerves was the fact that the incident happened when these students were left alone by the teacher. Some people were even confused how these 2 year olds could be so lethal.

Bangkok Police, however, did not take the incident to further cause, considering it as mere accident. In addition, the primary school and the parents of the child who attacked the girl also agreed to bear the responsibility by paying the hospital bills.

Fortunately, the girl was released from the treatment today’s afternoon. We hope that the incident will be a remembrance to always keep watch on these children.
