Palestinians and Israel Police Clash at Al-Aqsa

JERUSALEM - Israeli police force beat pilgrims at the holy site. On Sunday (2/6), there were approximately more than 400 Israeli settlers at Al Aqsa, East Jerusalem, to celebrate the approaching end of Ramadan month. For Muslims around the world, there are three holy sites, and one of which is Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Nonetheless, Palestinian Muslim at the site suddenly went vocal and cheered the settlers. The Palestinian Muslims shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God Is the Greatest) to the Israeli Jews at the site.

However, Israeli police force was the one who acted up to the provocation. They chased the Palestinians and beat them, including the mosque guard, to as far as the southern building area. The Israeli police threw stun grenades and sprayed teargas over the pilgrims. Even worse, they prohibited any medical assistance to aid the hurt civilians, reported Anadolu Agency. 3 pilgrims then were arrested after the clash. No official statement was made regarding the clash.

For the Jews, the holy site is known as the name Temple Mount. Today (3/6), the Israeli Jews are celebrating the Flag March, to commemorate the 1967 capture of East Jerusalem as the “unification” of their holy capital. There were about tens of thousands of Jews, ranging from all ages, partook the event.

The event highlighted the marching of song “Zochreini Na”, a biblical song derived from the epoch of Samson, and the word “Philistines” was changed into “Palestinians”

Israeli thought they seized the East Jerusalem after Arab-Israeli War in 1967. Despite the annexation and declaration of Jerusalem as their capital, Israeli was considered illegal in seizing the land in 1980.
