Osaka Prefecture Distributes PCR test kits to people without symptoms to detect signs of corona infection

In Osaka Prefecture, where the state of emergency has been lifted, the government has begun to distribute PCR test kits to people without symptoms in an effort to quickly detect signs of the spread of the new coronavirus.

The government is planning to conduct PCR tests on a wide range of people without symptoms in order to quickly detect signs of the spread of the infection in areas where the state of emergency has been lifted and help prevent its spread.

In response to this, the Osaka Prefectural Government started an initiative on March 5 to hand out test kits to passers-by in three locations in Osaka City, including the downtown area, to encourage their cooperation.

The staff in charge of the program took their temperature and asked about their physical condition before handing out the kits to visitors and explaining the testing procedure.

People can take the test without revealing their names and addresses, and when they collect saliva with the kit and send it by mail, the results will be notified to them via a special app.

The test data will be collected and analyzed, and will be used to understand the reemergence of the infection and to create countermeasures.

The Osaka prefectural government plans to distribute a total of 300 test kits every day from April 5.

In addition, the Osaka prefectural government hopes to expand the scale of the test by distributing the kits to students and employees with the cooperation of universities and companies in the prefecture.
