Oleksandr Zinchenko decides to sign 3-Year Man City contract extension

Man City defender Oleksandr Zinchenko had agreed to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium for the next three years. The news came after Zinchencko teammate, Kyle Walker was also confirmed that he had signed for a 2-year extension.

In other words, both of them will stay in the club until 2024.

Previously in 2018. , the 22 years old Zinchenko declined a £16m transfer to Wolves and chose to keep performing with Manchester City. He wanted to prove himself that he was worthy to be in the starting eleven.

Under Pep Guardiola management, Zinchenko seemed to have little future.

During 2018-2019 season, Zinchneko’s first appearance was in the EFL Cup where City won over Oxford United 3-0. The total of his appearances for City in that time was 43, with his only goal when the Citizens achieved a big victory after beating Burton Albion F.C with 9 – 0 on January 2019.

In last season, Zinchneko has 5 wins that were Premier League (2 wins), EFL Cup (2 wins) and FA Cup once.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola chose the Ukranian as the regular at left-back for the run in although he only played for three matches in the Premier League before the end of January.

Zinchenko expressed his happiness to sign the contract. It would be an honor to stay in Man City for five more years since the club provides everything for players to self-improving and developing, he added.
