Worker start to go office by today

Offices in Jakarta Opened Today, 50 Percent Capacity

Office activities in the Jakarta area will resume operations starting today amid the implementation of the transitional Large-Scale Social Limitation (PSBB). The policy was conveyed by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in a press conference related to the extension of the implementation of PSBB in the Jakarta area, last Thursday (4/6).

"Offices, restaurants, retail industries that are independent can begin on Monday, June 8," Anies said.

Despite being permitted to operate, Anies continued to warn that health protocol rules in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 must be obeyed. This is stated in Governor Regulation No. 51 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of CBSB Transition Period Towards Healthy, Safe and Productive Communities.

These rules include, among others, imposing a maximum capacity limit of 50 percent, organizing working days to working hours and working systems, requiring workers to use masks, checking body temperature, providing hand sanitizers, and so on. Anies asserted that he would not hesitate to close the office if when operating more than 50 percent of capacity. He stated that he would give a warning first if a violation was found. Later, if two reprimands are ignored, the closure will be carried out.

"If there are shops, offices, malls that have a maximum capacity of 50 percent, if they violate them, remind them twice, if they have violated them twice, they will be closed," he said.

In regulation 51/2020, it is also regulated regarding sanctions in the form of administrative fines of Rp. 25 million. The sanctions are given by the Department of Manpower, Transmigration and Energy. The implementation of the third phase of PSBB in DKI Jakarta is known to have ended on 4 June. The DKI Provincial Government then decided to extend the PSBB and make June a transitional period. Despite opening office activities, Anies still advised residents to stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
