Notable names for Jokowi's reshuffle attempt

As the issue of a reshuffle of the Onward Indonesia (Indonesia Maju) cabinet is getting louder, a few names were leaked to fill the once emptied cabinet position under the administration of the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Joko Widodo), and his Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin.

Speaking on Monday on the reshuffle issue, the Head of Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono, confirmed that there would be it. He added that the President himself would introduce the new ministers to the people.

The Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Jazilul Fawaid, once hinted that the cabinet reshuffle would happen on the upcoming Wednesday. The Leader of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Faisol Reza, even got the information that there would be six to eight ministers to be replaced. Reza stated that the reshuffle is needed as an action to fix the handling of the economy and healthcare system, affected by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on the land since March 2020.

According to some sources close to the matter, there are already several names in the reshuffle index. The Deputy Minister of Defense, Sakti Trenggono, is one of the names to sit as the new Minister of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the position once held by Edhy Prabowo who became a suspect in a corruption case. Trenggono himself clammed up when being inquired about the information.

The Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, and the Mayor of Solo, F. X. Rudyatmo, also competed as a potential name to replace the former Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara. Following Edhy's step, Juliari is now a suspect in a corruption case. When being asked, Rudyatmo denied the rumor that he was offered the seat by the Merdeka Palace. On the other hand, Risma said she is ready to fill the position if she gets permission from the leader of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Furthermore, in the wake of the cabinet reshuffle, Budi Gunadi Sadikin was rumored to replace Terawan Agus Putranto as the new Minister of Health, and a figure of Nahdlatul Ulema, Yahya Cholil Staquf, is said to replace Fachrul Razi as the new Minister of Religious Affairs. The former Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Sandiaga Uno, is also rumored to replace Wishnutama Kusubandio as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. However, these names have not yet provided any clarifications.
