Nobody’s Indy but Me: Ford

A person might be born to play it no other else could. Or simply, they just hate the idea of being replaced by the new one. It happens to Harrison Ford, the man known as the legendary smuggler Han Solo in “Star Wars” franchise & as the archaeology lecturer/adventurer Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford is also known for his frank, blatant statement when it comes to the characters that he played.

The franchise itself has reached the 4th installment: “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull”. The 5th is on the move, and is planned to be released on 9 July 2021. However, instead of Ford, they were considering to take Chris Pratt as the whippy, legendary adventurer.

Oh, Ford ain’t having it. In an American talkshow “Today”, the 76 year old actor made it crystal clear to all fans throughout the world, who might be cheering at the same time when he dropped the fact.

When he was asked about whom he would like to see as the next Indiana Jones, Ford frankly said, “Nobody”.

He even managed to put a satire toward Pratt when he mistook him as “Chris Pine”. True, too many Chris-es in the American Hollywood nowadays, Harrison Ford lost count.

Harrison Ford made it very clear that he would take the role to his grave, if he had to. Well, all the fans seem to agree.

Stephen Spielberg asked George Lucas as executive producer for the fifth, he just simply cannot do the movie without him since Lucas was the idea behind the whip.

But, one thing that we can assure of, Spielberg would not “J. J. Abrams”-ed Ford. In other words, he will not kill Indiana Jones in the fifth, since J. J. Abrams did so to Han Solo in "Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens".

Let’s just hope that Harrison Ford will make it to 2021. Fingers crossed.
