No mention of "Sakura wo Miru Kai" Financial Statements Inspection Report of the Board of Audit

The report released by the Board of Audit on October 10 for fiscal 2019 did not mention the Cabinet's public event "Cherry Blossom Watching Society" organized by the Prime Minister. In response to an increase in attendance and spending in the administration of Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister, the Inspector General's Office investigated the situation, but it seems that the accounting was not found to be appropriate.

As for the cherry blossom-watching party, it was discovered that the attendance increased year by year in the second Abe administration, and a lot of people related to Mr. Abe's supporters' association were invited. The budget was 1.767 million yen each year, but the actual expenditure has more than doubled from 15 years ago. In a question-and-answer session of the Diet last November, the Board of Inspectors responded that it would "inspect" the questions of communist legislators.

On the other hand, the dinner party held at the hotel the day before the cherry blossom-watching party was also considered a problem if the participants' expenses were too low, but because the dinner was a political activity rather than a public event, it was not subject to inspection by the inspection institute.
