Netizens berate Telkomsel for internet outage

It is evident that the internet has become one of the most basic needs in human life. On Tuesday morning, some people complained about internet outage hitting Telkomsel and its service product, IndiHome. In some regions, Telkomsel and IndiHome often face internet outage.

Some brought it up onto the internet platform, causing rather funny scenes. Due to the internet outage, the netizens complained that they could not access their social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram; or, watching cute cat videos on YouTube as usual.

Strangely, from all the social media, the netizens said that they could still open their Twitter.

According to the report by Fing, a site that monitors the network performance of internet providers in Indonesia, the outage in Telkomsel’s network starts at 10.15 a.m. The climax was at 10.40. It took 30 minutes for Telkomsel to fix the internet network. At 11.10 a.m, all services are functioning as usual.

Telkomsel released a statement, admitting that it was true that the internet was down for 45 minutes. It was caused by the internet outage in its headquarters, Telkom Group. Therefore, it affected Telkomsel and IndiHome.

VP Corporate Communications Telkomsel, Denny Abidin, said that even though the internet was down, it did not affect Telkomsel’s signal for the phone call and text messaging.
