N. Korea: Japan 'might' see real ballistic missiles 'real soon'
On Saturday, North Korea (N. Korea) – through its state-run media, KCNA – condemned the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, over his comment to N. Korea's latest multiple-rocket launcher test on Thursday, referring to the Japanese PM as an “imbecile” and a “political dwarf”.On Thursday, Pyongyang fired two short-range missiles to its east coast. The test was the fourth for the “super” multiple-rocket launcher.
N. Korea's Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un, who supervised the test, stated his satisfaction on Thursday's test.
Reacting to the projectiles, Abe referred to the two short-range projectiles as a ballistic threat for Tokyo and the international communities. Furthermore, Abe said that Tokyo, together with its allies, would monitor Pyongyang's movement.
Citing a vice director-general of the North Korean Foreign Ministry's Department of Japanese Affairs, KCNA sneered at Abe for “not being able to distinguish a multiple-rocket launcher and a ballistic missile”.
Accompanying the “imbecile and political dwarf” statement, KCNA said that Japan might see real ballistic missiles in “not so distant future” and “under his nose”.
Similar sneer also came in early November, when Abe also criticized N. Korea of violating UN Security Council resolution by firing ballistic missiles on 31 October, not super multiple-rocket launcher.
UN Security Council had banned N. Korea from firing ballistic missiles and using any threatening techs. However, N. Korea refused to obey since it accused UN Security Council of infringing its self-defense policy.
Last month, N. Korea also revealed that it is developing a new submarine-launched ballistic missile.
The latest test and all the puns thrown came as the deadline for denuclearization talks set by N. Korea for the United States (U.S) is coming to its end.
